Enabling AbilitiesPersons with disabilities may be considered the most disadvantaged section of society, as they are often neglected even in their families. At Ferrando Rehabilitation Society for Disabled (FRSD) we believe that people with disabilities are precious and deserve the best care from fellow human beings. With its mission of ‘enabling abilities’ FRSD has been engaged in rendering services in the areas of Vision and low vision unit, Audiology, Physiotherapy, Orthotic and Prosthetic work shop, School for hearing impaired children, residential care for hearing-impaired girls and boys and Community based rehabilitation (CBR) programs.

• School for Hearing Impaired Children with classes from Nursery to Class VIII
• Coaching for Class X and XII in NIOS

• Dispensing of hearing aids.

• Awareness programmes.
Assessment and treatment of communication problems and speech disorders. These include articulation therapy, listening training, language intervention activities, and others depending on the type of speech.
• Physiotherapy deploying modern techniques and equipment
• Home based therapy
• Rehabilitative therapy for children with restricted movement
• Guidance in making the local adaptations in houses
• Parents and patient counseling.
• Provide Orthosis (supportive device like caliper), prosthesis (artificial limb)

Since 2017 Ferrando Rehabilitation Centre has been evolving as resource centre under RAISE-NE project for inclusive education to provide technical support for early intervention, appropriate education, skill development, and lifelong learning support services, in improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities to their maximum.
• To generate awareness about the cause of disability for prevention and reduction of disabilities.

• To ensure the social security of PWDs with the help of GOs and NGOs
• To transfer the skills of Rehabilitation to the community
